The Risk Management team offers a 24-hour emergency risk management hotline for our insured psychiatrists with direct and immediate access to risk management information when the need arises, even beyond traditional business hours. This toll-free hotline is dedicated solely to Allied World’s insured psychiatrists and is provided at no cost. The hotline is staffed during business hours but is available through the hotline number 24/7 should an emergency issue arise. Psychiatrists have accessed the hotline after hours on many occasions for a variety of emergency issues, including imminent duty to warn issues.

“In Session” is a quarterly newsletter designed to address legal and risk related issues that are critical to psychiatrists. Each issue also includes Legal Updates so that insureds are aware of recent legislative news and legal exposures that can impact their practice.
In months when no newsletter is sent, insureds are emailed risk management advisories on a single issue. Recent topics include Documentation as Your Best Defense, Professional Boundaries, and What Hat Are You Wearing? Exploring the Many Roles of the Provider.
